So the man that the British police gunned down at point blank range in front of subway commuters in fact had nothing to do with any of the bombings. He was a Brazilian electrician on his way to work. This article implies that this leads creedence to the argument that British officers should go back to being gunless.
Personally, I think the whole world should go back to being gunless. But that's just me.
I'm not blind to the positive things the British police have done with regards to the bombings. However, it's still an outrage and blah blah. But it's only such a large deal because
A) it happened in the wake of events that caused worldwide attention
B) Brits are not typically known for a Texas mentality
If this had happened in, say, Bakersfield, where shoot-first-ask-questions-only-if-you-ca n-form-complete-sentences is the status quo, it wouldn't be a big deal. I'm not saying this because I think the police were right in their actions. I'm saying this because the same exact thing has happened in this town too many times and no one gave a shit.
We need the Second Amendment to protect ourselves from the Man, evidently.
David showed me glow-in-the-dark parts on two of his .45s. (He has three of those in total. Why? In case he stumbles into some radioactive waste and grows a third arm, I guess.) The reason for these glow-in-the-dark parts are so that you make sure you are handling it properly in the dark. Good idea. If you are shooting gangmembers/squirrels/Brazilian electricians in the dark, you better make damn sure the thing isn't pointing at yourself.
I watched American President this evening and decided that Martin Sheen should never call anyone Mr. President and Michael Douglas doesn't give the words "What's next" nearly as much resonance as Sheen.
